The successful candidate is required to provide technical advice and support of GCIS in fulfillment of efficient and effective delivery of GCIS Database-as-a-Service and Shared Services, as well as facilitation of managed services for smooth operation of the GCIS infrastructures. Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the DPO; 1. To provide technical advice on administration, operation and configuration of GCIS equipment including database, servers, storage, and backup facilities, etc in fulfillment of GCIS Shared Services delivery 2. To facilitate upgrade of system software under virtualized environment for GCIS Shared Services 3. To perform problem diagnosis and performance tuning on GCIS Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS, aka EGIS) application servers and databases (including DB2, Oracle and MySQL) for facilitation of GCIS capacity management and server configuration management 4. To provide intensive database support including backup, recovery and high-availability configurations in complex database environment 5. To provide 7 x 24 round-the-clock support when required, including nights, weekends and holidays 6. To facilitate and provide support for the relocation of GCIS to new data centre 7. To assist project manager in monitoring work performance and conduct quality assurance of project deliverables from outsourced contractors 8. To carry out other project related duties as designated by project manager Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 6.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 2.0 Requirements Candidate : 1. shall possess solid experience in supporting large-scale IT infrastructure (over 1,000 virtual servers) with dual-active production sites over cross-site network with SAN support for hosting e-services adopting J2EE application infrastructure on Linux systems 2. shall possess sound technical experience in supporting MySQL, IBM DB2 UDB and Oracle RAC database systems 3. shall have experience on supporting e-Government Infrastructure Service (EGIS) 4. shall have experience in using virtualization software including VMware 7 or above 5. preferably have experience in supporting RedHat Linux and RedHat JBOSS application servers 6. shall have experience in conducting quality assurance on project deliverables 7. shall have strong sense of analytical and problem solving skills 8. shall be hard-working and self-motivate with positive attitude 9. shall be a team-player with good communication and interpersonal skills 10. may be required to work outside normal working hours for ad-hoc trouble-shooting 11. may be required to work in data centres in Sai Kung, Tsuen Wan and Cheung Sha Wan occasionally 12. is required to conduct criminal record checking Technical Skills: . At least 3 years' experience in DB2 Database Tuning (DBT); . At least 3 years' experience in EGIS (EGI); . At least 3 years' experience in MySQL (MSQ); . At least 3 years' experience in Oracle Real Application Cluster (OAC); . At least 3 years' experience in Storage Area Network (SAN); . At least 3 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT); . 3 years' experience in Red Hat Advanced Server (RHS) is an advantage; . 3 years' experience in IT Security (ITS) is an advantage; . 3 years' experience in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) is an advantage. Non-technical Skills: . At least 3 years' experience in quality assurance (QAS); . 3 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV) is an advantage; . Good written English is an advantage; . 3 years' experience in IT service/outsourcing management (OUT) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 6 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 2 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
