GNET is a Government-wide network infrastructure based on Government Network Architecture. It provides stable, reliable and high resilience broadband network connections to Government bureaux, departments, as well as Government central IT services. Bureaux, departments and central IT services connect GNET either through Metro Ethernet WAN or via local Ethernet ports to GNET Points of Presence (PoPs) which include the DPO data centres and a number of government office buildings. Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the DPO; 1. Administer the network monitoring system, system logging server, network performance system and alert reporting system for GNET support team and GNET clients 2. Provide operational and administrative support on virtual server platforms using in GNET 3. Provide on-going technical support and network administration services to GNET in order to provide a reliable and robust service to the GNET clients, including network configuration changes, upgrade, incident and problem handling, etc. 4. Manage the GNET theme page in Government Information Station website 5. Need to work outside office hours occasionally in scheduled and non-scheduled manner Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 4.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 1.0 Requirements 1. With knowledge and experience in administering Linux Server, server virtualization and Linux shell scripting 2. With knowledge and experience in managing system logging server and network performance monitoring system preferably on CACTI, Rizhiyi 3. With experience in network support of enterprise-class MPLS network 4. May need to work on-site in different GNET PoPs in various districts 5. The candidate to be engaged is required to conduct criminal record checking for security vetting purpose. Technical Skills: . At least 4 years' experience in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP); . At least 4 years' experience in Linux System Administration (LIN); . At least 4 years' experience in Network & System Management (NSM); . At least 3 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT); . At least 3 years' experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS). Non-technical Skills: . 2 years' experience in the management and support of Government systems and services (GSS) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in software testing (STM) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 4 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
