| Project Nature |
(T26) To develop in-house web applications for Forecast Verification Service of HKO and support IT tasks related to HIW forecast product development.

| Duties |
- Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the HKO;
A CAP is required to perform the following IT tasks:
1. Provide IT support to the implementation of revised visibility module of the Forecast Verification System (FCV) of HKO, and testing and development of new modules such as rainfall and HIW elements.
2. Integrate new and existing web applications of the Forecast Verification System, and other Intranet pages, tools and portals such as machine-learning probabilistic rainfall forecast to support High Impact Weather (HIW) team.
3. Provide IT support for other time-limited project needs under HIW Team.
4. Support scientific studies on reliability and performance of various HIW tools.
5. Prepare documentation and training to HKO staff.

| Requirements |
1. Proficient in software development using JAVA, with knowledge in Python.
2. Experience in PostgreSQL, Oracle SQL, and Unix/Linux shell scripting.
3. Experience in version control tools such as GitLab or GitHub.
4. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines is preferable.
5. Knowledge of development of machine learning or artificial intelligence applications is a plus.
A criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check.
Technical Skills:
. At least 2 years' experience in JAVA Programming (JAV);
. At least 2 years' experience in MySQL (MSQ);
. At least 2 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL);
. At least 2 years' experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS);
. At least 1.5 years' experience in Web Programming (WEB);
. At least 1 year's experience in PHP programming (PHP);
. At least 1 year's experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP);
. 1 year's experience in C++ (C++) is an advantage.
Non-technical Skill:
. 1 year's experience in work with the Government (GOV) is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
