The Network System Engineer is to provide on-site services including but not limited to network setup and configuration, network management and monitoring, network incident handling, implementation of network improvement and/or revamp works, as well as to provide consultation and helpdesk services required by users. Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the E&MSD; The Network System Engineer shall be responsible for: 1. Network management including but not limited to maintenance and management of firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi systems, server rooms, updating of DNS, assignment of IP addresses/subnets, etc. 2. Network monitoring including but not limited to the monitoring of all network equipment, review of system event logs, firewall logs, network utilization, etc. 3. Troubleshooting and handling of network incidents as well as handling and/or follow up of IT security or vulnerabilities issues. 4. Provide network and IT related consultation and advices to users. 5. Implementation of network revamp or network improvement projects. 6. Provide on-site support services at HKO offices including the HKO Headquarters, HKO remote offices, and other site offices (such as Airport Traffic Tower, King's Park Meteorological Station, etc.) of HKO. 7. Handle support tasks such as network cabling work, replacement of UPS battery, etc. 8. Handle renewal of hardware and software maintenance and/or subscription. 9. Provide regular reporting of network performance. 10. 7x24 standby support including on-site standby support may be required during severe weather warning / condition (such as when typhoon signal no. 8 or higher is hosted). Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 4.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 3.0 Requirements 1. Good understanding of routing protocols and switching technologies including but not limited to VPN, TCP, IP, Spanning Tree, OSPF, BGP, DNS, VLAN, NAT, PAT, QoS, etc. 2. Strong PC hardware and software trouble shooting skills. 3. Cisco certification(s) (CCNA/CCNP) is required. 4. Working experience with various types of networking equipment including but not limited to fiber optics, Cat5e/Cat6 ethernet cables, SFPs, various types of connectors is a must. 5. Solid working experience in administration of Linux / Unix platforms is required. 6. Solid working experience in administration of Microsoft Active Directory is required. Technical Skills: . At least 3.5 years' experience in Networking (NET); . At least 3.5 years' experience in Network & System Management (NSM); . At least 3 years' experience in Router Configuration (ROU); . At least 3 years' experience in Virtual Private Network (VPN); . At least 3 years' experience in Wide Area Network (WAN); . At least 3 years' experience in CISCO IOS Software & CISCO Products (CIP); . At least 3 years' experience in Internet Firewall Technical Support (IFW); . At least 3 years' experience in Internet/ Intranet (INT); . At least 3 years' experience in Network Design (NDN). Non-technical Skills: . At least 2 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV); . At least 1.6666666666667 years' experience in helpdesk call handling (HDT). - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 4 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
