Lead the implementation and migration of advanced infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on VMware Cloud Foundation, VMware Tanzu, and VMware Aria Suite, providing specialised cloud management and containerisation expertise and in site preparation for Data Centre migration; 2. Focusing on the architectural enhancement and capacity engineering of the ESXi-based virtual machine hosting environment and Stretched Cluster for various critical government management systems; 3. Develop, architect, and operate robust Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, ensuring the new infrastructure strictly adheres to government IT security standards and compliance requirements through advanced data encryption and vulnerability remediation strategies; 4. Coordinate and manage end-to-end IT infrastructure projects, overseeing contractor activities, procurement processes, and hardware/software evaluations to ensure continuous service delivery during major infrastructure transitions. Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the E&MSD; 1. Lead the technical delivery, design, and implementation of VMware infrastructure projects, enabling new platform features and capabilities (e.g., vSAN architecture, Tanzu containerised deployments, and Aria automation workflows); 2. Engineer and optimise the highly virtualised VMware environment, providing advanced troubleshooting and architectural guidance for Windows and Linux operating systems, delegating routine daily maintenance to operational teams; 3. Manage end-to-end project delivery for major infrastructure upgrades and site preparation for Data Centre relocation, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and vendor coordination; 4. Implement, test, and maintain DR plans using the Stretched Cluster, and oversee the strategic design of system backup and recovery operations using Veeam Backup & Replication; 5. Design and apply strict security controls, perform server hardening, and implement remediation measures to ensure the IT infrastructure complies with government IT security policies (e.g., SRAA, DPO G3 S17); 6. Manage Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Reverse Proxy configurations, VMware vCenter certificates, and data encryption technologies (Data-at-Rest and Data-in-Transit); 7. Develop and maintain complex automated scripts (e.g., PowerShell, CMD, Excel VBA) to streamline daily operations, system health monitoring, and reporting for use by the wider infrastructure team; 8. Update and maintain comprehensive system design documents, operation procedures, drill plans, contingency plans, technical reports, and user manuals; 9. Assist in tendering operations, from drafting technical tender specifications to tender evaluation and award for government procurement; 10. Ensure all project deliverables are completed on time and meet high-quality standards; 11. Perform any other IT-related duties and services as assigned by the supervisor. Minimum 8 years of post-qualification information technology experience; 3. Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity, specifically focusing on IT infrastructure architectural design, implementation, and advanced technical support; 4. Holding a valid VMware Certified Professional - VMware Cloud Foundation (VCP-VCF) Administration certification is an advantage; 5. Minimum 3 years of hands-on expertise with VMware enterprise technologies, including the configuration and management of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and Virtual SAN (vSAN); 6. Minimum 1 to 2 years of practical experience with VMware Aria Suite for cloud management/automation, and VMware Tanzu for containerized application deployment; 7. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in both Linux and Windows system administration, including server hardening, patching, and performance tuning; 8. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in enterprise backup operations and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, including Stretched Cluster implementation; 9. Proven experience with Veeam Backup & Replication, including backup system upgrades, new feature enablement, and implementation within a VMware vSphere environment; 10. Comprehensive knowledge of government IT security standards, frameworks, and Information Security Management, with experience implementing security controls and remediation measures in virtualized environments; 11. Hands-on experience with VMware data encryption technologies (Data-at-Rest and Data-in-Transit encryption) and familiarity with IT security scanning tools; 12. Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including Reverse Proxy and VMware vCenter certificate management; 13. Proficiency in TCP/IP and VLAN/LAN switching configurations within VMware environments; 14. Hands-on script programming experience for automation and administration (e.g., PowerShell, CMD, and Excel VBA); 15. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues; 16. Creative, analytical, self-initiative, responsible, and well-organized, with a strong commitment to project deadlines and delivering high-quality work. Technical Skills: .
