Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the Judiciary; The candidate will be responsible for: - Overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of all on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (primarily Linux and Windows). - Monitoring server performance and capacity planning, including forecasting resource needs (CPU, RAM, storage) to ensure proactive scaling. - Implementing high-availability and failover solutions to guarantee maximum uptime and business continuity across mission-critical sites. - Managing the full lifecycle of server assets, including procurement, licensing, documentation, and maintenance contracts, while tracking departmental CAPEX/OPEX. - Managing hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., on-perm Kubernetes) for server workloads, focusing on provisioning and cost optimization. - Developing and owning the backup and disaster recovery strategy, including regular restorability tests and server-side DR planning. - Enforcing security compliance, including server hardening, patch management, antivirus, and backup encryption to meet internal and external audit requirements. - Leading root cause analysis (RCA) for server outages and implementing permanent technical fixes to prevent recurrence. - Supervising and mentoring system administrators, including the management of on-call rotations and escalation procedures. - Driving automation and emerging technologies, such as implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting routine tasks. Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 8.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 3.0 Requirements Other than the requirements specified in the 'Technical' and 'Non-Technical' Requirement Sections below, the candidate shall possess: - A Bachelor's Degree or Higher Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. - At least 8 years of post-qualification IT experience, with a focused background in server infrastructure. - A minimum of 3 years of management experience at a comparable capacity. - Proven experience in managing large-scale projects and hybrid-cloud server environments. - Extensive knowledge of on-premise and cloud-based server infrastructure (Linux and Windows platforms). - Practical experience in virtualization and container orchestration (VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes). - Solid understanding of security best practices, including patch management and server hardening. - Experience in government sectors or highly regulated environments (highly advantageous). - Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools like Ansible or Terraform (desirable). Technical Skills: . At least 3 years' experience in Infrastructure (INF); . At least 1 year's experience in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP); . At least 1 year's experience in Linux System Administration (LIN); . At least 1 year's experience in Storage Area Network (SAN); . At least 1 year's experience in Security Risk Assessment (SRA); . At least 1 year's experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT); . 1 year's experience in System Backup Operation (BKO) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in IT Planning (ITP) is an advantage. Non-technical Skills: . At least 1 year's experience in work with the Government (GOV); . At least 1 year's experience in Government procurement/disposal procedures (GPD); . Good written English is a must; . At least 1 year's experience in IT procurement (PRO); . At least 1 year's experience in vendor management (VMG); . 1 year's experience in contract administration (CON) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in quality management (QMT) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in site preparation (SPE) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in project management (PRM) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 8 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
