Design and implement robust backend systems for tide gauge data acquisition, processing, storage, and management, including real-time data ingestion pipelines and batch processing workflows. 2. Develop data integration solutions that connect tide gauge sensor networks with existing operational systems and databases, creating APIs and data services capable for internal consumption. 3. Design, implement, and optimize database schemas for time-series tide gauge data, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and querying of historical and real-time data. 4. Implement automated data quality control algorithms and validation systems to ensure data accuracy and reliability across the tide gauge network. 5. Collaborate with HKO staff to design secure, robust system architecture, implementing appropriate security measures and system monitoring tools. 6. Analyze and optimize backend system performance, particularly for real-time data processing and large-scale historical data queries. 7. Automatically generate management report to facilitate monitoring of data availability and quality of each tide/water level station. Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 6.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 3.0 Requirements Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information System, or related subject ; AND Proficient in : (i) application development using programming language on Windows and Unix/Linux based platforms ; (ii) developing database application using SQL languages ; (iii) designing the flow of data generated from various software/ Knowledge in NCL and Python; (iv) use of AI-assisted tools. Knowledge in Fortran will be an advantage. Technical Skills: . At least 3 years' experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS); . At least 2 years' experience in UNIX System Administration (UNA); . At least 2 years' experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP); . At least 2 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL); . At least 1 year's experience in PHP programming (PHP); . At least 6 months' experience in Security Risk Assessment and Audit (SAA); . 2 years' experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in XML (XML) is an advantage. Non-technical Skills: . At least 3 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV); . 1 year's experience in quality assurance (QAS) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in software testing (STM) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in the management and support of Government systems and services (GSS) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 6 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
