(T26) To provide programming support for the maintenance and enhancement of in-house training simulation systems, internal training databases, knowledge management systems, and public education websites.

| Duties |
- Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the HKO;
The CAP shall develop software and provide technical support for the systems and webpages of Training and Exercises Division. Major tasks are as follows:
- To incorporate new cases and streamline workflow of in-house weather case simulation training platform;
- To revamp and modify the design layout of all public education related webpages to fulfill the latest W3C requirements and Security Risk Assessment and Audit (SRAA) report;
- To consolidate various internal training databases and knowledge management systems from Network Attached Storage (NAS) to virtual machines (VM) with operating systems Redhat Linux and Ubuntu;
- To revamp and modify the radiation and weather data display on Gamma-Go educational platform;
- To provide technical support on ad-hoc requests; and
- To write up documentation of software modules.

| Requirements |
1) Proficiency in developing Server-Side Rendering applications (e.g. Nextjs) and responsive Single Page Applications. Experience in building meteorological related web-based interactive training system is a plus.
2) Experience in Python and Node.js backend development, RESTful API design, and ORM tools with relational databases (e.g. MariaDB) for production environments.
3) Experience in Linux-based application deployment, containerization (e.g. Podman/Docker), and managing web servers (e.g. Apache2/Nginx).
4) Experience in implementation in W3C Web Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1/2.2), internationalization and UI theming for websites;
5) Knowledge in version control tools and setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab CI/CD) for automated testing and deployment;
6) Knowledge in integrating Large Language Models or AI services (e.g. vision/text models) into web applications, including designing automated data processing workflows via API integration.
Criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check.
Technical Skills:
. At least 2 years' experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP);
. At least 2 years' experience in PHP programming (PHP);
. At least 2 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL);
. At least 2 years' experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS);
. At least 2 years' experience in Web Programming (WEB);
. 1 year's experience in Knowledge Management Technology (KMT) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Linux System Administration (LIN) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in MySQL (MSQ) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in SQL*PLUS/PL/SQL/PRO*C (OPL) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Client/Server Application Development (C/S) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Data Architecture (DAR) is an advantage.
Non-technical Skill:
. At least 1 year's experience in work with the Government (GOV).
- Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
- At least 4 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
